Fuel Grade

Standard Recommendation:

  • Designed to run efficiently on regular unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87.

Premium Fuel for Optimal Performance:

  • While 87 octane is sufficient, using premium fuel (91 octane or higher) can provide better performance, especially with the 2.0L turbo engine.

No Engine Damage:

  • Using regular unleaded fuel will not cause any damage to the engine, even if you choose to use premium for better performance.

4xe Models:

  • The Jeep Wrangler 4xe (plug-in hybrid) is also designed to run on regular unleaded fuel (87 octane) and benefits from premium fuel for optimal performance.

  • Do Not Use:
  • Diesel fuel
  • Fuel with more than 15% ethanol (e.g., E85)
  • Fuels containing methanol or metallic-based additives
  • Leaded fuel (prohibited by law)

  • Four-Door Wrangler: 21.5-gallon fuel tank
