Vehicle specific information
Vehicle specs, recommendations, and locations of important items.
Fuel Grade
- The Tucson is designed to run efficiently on regular unleaded gasoline, which is the most common type and has an octane rating of 87.
- While using higher octane fuel (like premium) won't necessarily harm the engine, it won't provide any significant benefits either.
Fuel Hatch Sticker:
- You can also find the recommended fuel type and octane rating on a sticker located on the fuel door or gas cap.
Do not use:
- E85 (85% ethanol)
- Leaded gasoline
- Fuel with methanol
Roadside Emergency: Spare Tire & Tools
1. Check for a Spare Tire or Tire Repair Kit:
- Many newer cars, including some Hyundai models, are opting for tire repair kits instead of full-size spare tires to save weight and space .
- If you have a spare tire, it's likely a space-saver (donut) type .
- Check under the cargo area floor panel or in the designated storage area .
- If you have a tire repair kit, it will usually include a sealant, a compressor, and a power cable .
2. If you have a spare tire:
- Locate the spare tire, jack, and lug wrench .
- Follow the instructions in your owner's manual for changing the tire .
- Remember to check the spare tire's pressure and condition regularly .
- When driving on a spare tire, adhere to the speed and distance limitations (typically 50 mph and 50 miles) .
3. If you have a tire repair kit:
- The kit typically involves using sealant to temporarily fix a puncture, then inflating the tire .
- Once the tire is repaired, you'll need to get it professionally repaired or replaced as soon as possible .
