Troubleshooting Infotainment System / Frozen Screen
- Soft Reset: Press and hold the power button on the infotainment system for about 10 seconds until the system reboots.
- Check for Updates: Ensure your infotainment system software is up to date by navigating to 'Settings' > 'System' > 'Updates'.
- Restart Vehicle:

Bluetooth Not Connecting
- Ensure Bluetooth is Enabled on Both Devices:
- Verify that Bluetooth is turned on for both your phone and the vehicle's infotainment system.
- Restart Both Devices:
- Turn off and then back on your phone and the vehicle's infotainment system to reset their Bluetooth functions.
- Delete Previous Pairings:
- On your phone, remove the Honda CR-V from the list of paired devices.
- On the vehicle's system, delete your phone from its paired devices list.
- Re-pair the Devices:
- On the infotainment system, navigate to the Bluetooth settings and select 'Add New Device.'
- On your phone, search for available Bluetooth devices and select your Honda CR-V.
- Confirm any pairing codes that appear on both devices.
- Check for Software Updates:
- Ensure that your phone's operating system and the vehicle's infotainment system software are up to date.
CarPlay / Android Auto Not Working
- Verify Device Compatibility:
- Ensure your phone is compatible with Apple CarPlay (iPhone 5 or newer) or Android Auto (Android 8.0 or newer).
- Use a High-Quality USB Cable:
- Connect your phone to the vehicle using a reliable USB cable. Faulty or non-original cables can cause connection issues.
- Enable CarPlay/Android Auto on Your Phone:
- For Apple CarPlay:
- Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Allowed Apps, and ensure CarPlay is enabled.
- Navigate to Settings > General > CarPlay, select your vehicle, and enable 'Allow CarPlay While Locked.'
- For Android Auto:
- Open the Android Auto app, go to Settings, and ensure it's enabled.
- Navigate to Settings > Connected Devices > Android Auto, and ensure 'Add new cars to Android Auto' is turned on.
- Enable CarPlay/Android Auto in the Vehicle:
- On the infotainment system, navigate to Settings > Smartphone Connection, and ensure CarPlay or Android Auto is enabled.
- Check for Software Updates:
- Ensure your phone's operating system and the vehicle's infotainment system software are up to date.
Lane Keep Assist Not Functioning
- Ensure Lane Keep Assist is Enabled:
- Press the Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS) button located on the steering wheel. The LKAS indicator should illuminate on the instrument panel.
- Check Vehicle Speed:
- LKAS operates only at speeds between approximately 45 mph (72 km/h) and 90 mph (145 km/h). Ensure you're within this speed range.
- Verify Lane Markings:
- LKAS requires clear lane markings to function. Poor or missing lane markings can prevent the system from operating.
- Clean the Windshield:
- Ensure the area around the rearview mirror, where the LKAS camera is located, is clean and free from obstructions.
- Check for Warning Messages:
- If there's a system malfunction, a warning message should appear on the instrument panel. Refer to the owner's manual for specific instructions related to the warning.
Power Liftgate Not Opening
- Check the Vehicle's Battery:
- A weak or dead battery can prevent the power liftgate from operating. Ensure the vehicle's battery is charged and in good condition.
- Verify Power Liftgate Settings:
- On the infotainment system, navigate to Settings > Vehicle > Door/Window Setup, and ensure the power tailgate feature is enabled.
- Use the Key Fob:
- Press and hold the tailgate button on the key fob to open the liftgate. If this doesn't work, the key fob battery might be low.
- Check for Obstructions:
- Ensure there's nothing blocking the liftgate's path. Even small obstacles can prevent it from opening.
- Manual Operation:
- If the power function fails, you can manually open the liftgate by pressing the release button located above the license plate and lifting the tailgate.
Parking Brake Won’t Release
- Check for Warning Messages:
- If there's an issue with the electronic parking brake, a warning message should appear on the instrument panel.
- Ensure the Vehicle is On:
- The parking brake can only be released when the ignition is turned on.
- Press the Brake Pedal Firmly:
- Firmly press the brake pedal while attempting to release the parking brake.
- Use the Parking Brake Switch:
- Press the parking brake switch down to release the brake. If it doesn't release, there might be an issue with the switch or related components.
- Inspect for System Issues:
- A defective parking brake switch, battery problems, or wiring issues can cause the parking brake to malfunction.
