⚠️ VEHICLE troubleshooting
Guides to fix issues if something isn’t working.
Troubleshooting Infotainment System / Frozen Screen
- Press and hold the infotainment system’s power button for about 10 seconds to restart.
- If the system does not reboot, turn off the engine and restart the vehicle.
- Check for system software updates via the Mercedes-Benz website.
- If the issue persists, visit a dealership for further diagnosis.
Bluetooth Not Connecting
- Turn off Bluetooth on your smartphone and turn it back on.
- Restart your vehicle’s infotainment system by holding the power button for 10 seconds.
- Delete old Bluetooth connections from the infotainment system.
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth > Devices and remove unnecessary paired devices.
- Delete the “Mercedes-Benz” or “MBUX” connection from your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
- Restart your phone.
- Try reconnecting:
- On infotainment screen: Go to TEL > Connect Device > Add New Device.
- On phone: Select "MBUX" or "Mercedes-Benz" from available Bluetooth devices.
- If Bluetooth still won’t connect, check for software updates in the Mercedes me app or visit a dealership.
CarPlay / Android Auto Not Working
- For Wired Connection:
- Use an Apple-certified Lightning cable or a high-quality USB-C cable for Android.
- Plug the cable into the correct USB port (usually labeled with a smartphone icon).
- Unlock your phone and confirm any prompts to allow access.
- Restart both your phone and the car’s infotainment system.
- Try another cable or a different USB port.
- For Wireless Connection (GLB250, if equipped):
- Make sure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are both enabled on your iPhone.
- Remove the existing CarPlay connection:
- On iPhone: Go to Settings > General > CarPlay > Forget This Car.
- On infotainment system: Go to Settings > Smartphone > Remove Device.
- Restart your phone and the car.
- Reconnect:
- On infotainment system: Go to Settings > Smartphone Connectivity > Add Device.
- On iPhone: Select "MBUX" from Settings > Bluetooth and follow the prompts.
- If CarPlay or Android Auto still won’t work, check for software updates in the Mercedes me app or visit a dealership.
Lane Keep Assist Not Functioning
- Check if Lane Keep Assist is enabled:
- Go to Settings > Driver Assistance > Lane Keep Assist and turn it on.
- Make sure you are driving above 37 mph (60 km/h), as Lane Keep Assist only works at higher speeds.
- Ensure clear lane markings are present. The system may not work well in rain, snow, or faded road lines.
- Clean the front windshield camera (near the rearview mirror) with a microfiber cloth.
- Restart the vehicle and check again.
- If the issue continues, the camera or sensors may need recalibration—visit a dealership.
Power Liftgate Not Opening
- Unlock all doors using the key fob or the interior button.
- Try opening manually using the trunk release handle above the license plate.
- If using the foot sensor (GLB250 models with hands-free trunk feature):
- Make sure you kick straight under the center of the rear bumper (not too fast or too slow).
- Stand at least 1-2 feet away from the car before attempting.
- Check if the liftgate button inside the vehicle works.
- Restart the vehicle and try again.
- If the power liftgate is still unresponsive, check the fuse box (refer to the owner’s manual for the exact fuse location).
- If the issue persists, the power liftgate motor may need servicing—contact a dealership.
Parking Brake Won’t Release
- Press the brake pedal firmly before trying to release the parking brake.
- Press the parking brake switch down while holding the brake pedal.
- If Auto Hold is active, press the Auto Hold button to turn it off.
- Restart the vehicle and try again.
- If the battery is weak, jump-start the car and then try to release the parking brake.
- If the brake is still stuck, the system may need a manual override (refer to the owner's manual for emergency brake release).
- If none of these steps work, contact Mercedes-Benz Roadside Assistance or visit a dealership.
